NMIMS 2026 Selection Process Change Besides NMAT Weight; Check NMIMS CAPI Details

NMIMS released its MBA 2026 shortlists along with the changes to the final selection criteria. The weightage for the NMAT score has been reduced to 10 per cent from 20 per cent last year, while the Competency Assessment will now account for 60 per cent in the final merit. The remaining weightage of 30 per cent is divided equally between the Personal Interview (15%) and Work Experience (15%). NMIMS has removed the weightage for the academic record this year.

NMIMS Competency Assessment and Personal Interview (CAPI) process will be held offline at NMIMS Mumbai campus. Candidates willing to appear for NMIMS CAPI have to pay INR 1,200 (increased from INR 1000 in last admission cycle) and submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) of up to 300 words. The last date for NMIMS CAPI registration and SOP submission is January 25.

The interview slots for NMIMS MBA admissions are available from January 31 to February 26. Candidates can book slots for NMIMS CAPI on a first-come, first-served basis. However, several candidates reported that they are unable to book slots for a date after February 10. If the trends from the previous admission cycle are compared, NMIMS will open these slots once all slots until Feb 10 are filled. However, the deadline to book slots for NMIMS CAPI may not change. More than 13,000 NMIMS MBA aspirants are expected to visit Mumbai campus for the CAPI process.
