DTE Chennai conducts the TANCET counselling for MBA and MCA admission across Tamil Nadu. Recently the official counselling website for admissions based on TANCET has been updated. The update on the counselling website has stated that the details about the counselling will be notified soon. As per the schedule prediction based on the previous sessions, candidates can expect the counselling to start in July. The mode of the TANCET counselling is yet to be notified. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, DTE switched the mode of counselling to online in the past two sessions. With the reduction in the COVID-19 cases, DTE might plan to go back to the offline counselling process.\

TANCET 2022 Counselling Process

The space below mentions the TANCET counselling process for MBA and MCA admissions conducted in online mode from the past two sessions:

Step 1: Counselling Registration

The counselling registration is entirely an online process hosted over the counselling website; tn-mbamca.com. Candidates need to pay the counselling fee based on their category.

Step 2: Certificate Verification

Candidates who have completed the counselling registration and paid the fee can proceed to upload their documents. The following documents are to be uploaded at the TANCET login dashboard:

  • Class 10 mark sheet
  • Class 12 mark sheet / Diploma Certificate
  • Graduation mark sheets for all semesters / Years of qualifying Degree Examinations
  • Provisional / Degree Certificate
  • Permanent Community Certificate Card (to avail reservation)
  • TANCET 2022 Scorecard/ Rank Card
  • TANCET 2022 hall ticket
  • District Medical Board Certificate (for Differently abled Candidates only)
  • Nativity Certificate in electronic form / digitally signed e-certificate (If applicable)
  • Sri Lankan Tamil Refugee certificate (If applicable)

Step 3: Publication of TANCET Rank List

Candidates who get their documents verified get their names included in the rank list. Ranks are allotted based on the percentile score of the candidate in the TANCET exam.

Step 4: Choice Filling

Candidates whose names are included in the rank list are required to participate in the choice filling process. This phase of the TANCET counselling process requires the candidates to choose their preferred course and college.

Step 5: Seat Allotment

Based on the choices marked by the candidates during the choice filling process, DTE shall compile the seat allotment list. The seat allotment result hosts the names of the candidates along with the allotted college.

Candidates who are allotted seats need to pay the admission fee and report to the college before the predefined date.
