Uzbekistan delegation confirmed that 500 students have been admitted to Tashkent Medical Academy, 1,000 students secured admission in Bukhara State Medical Institute and 500 students have been provided admission in other institutes in Uzbekistan.

The Uzbekistan government has come to the rescue of nearly 2,000 students from Telangana who were pursuing their MBBS in Ukraine, but were forced to return to India due to the ongoing war.

During a meeting with Health Minister T Harish Rao, the Uzbekistan delegation confirmed that 500 students have been admitted to Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA), 1,000 students secured admission in Bukhara State Medical Institute and 500 students have been provided admission in other institutes in Uzbekistan.

To guide students in getting direct MBBS admissions in Uzbekistan, the TMA has opened South Asian regional head office at Himayatnagar. Prof Alisher Kayumovich Shadmanov, TMA rector and former health minister, said, “Middlemen are cheating students. To avoid this, TMA with its strategic partner NEO Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology Ltd opened their South Asian regional head office in Himayatnagar.”

“I appreciate the courage of Indian students who managed to come back from Ukraine, despite difficulties. I advise parents of aspiring students to contact TMA’s office in Hyderabad for direct information and other services,” Prof Shadmanov said.
