KCET 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment KEA Issues Notice on Fresh Option Entry, Seat Cancellation
KEA mandates fresh option entry for KCET 2026 Round 3, warning candidates of final seat acceptance and a strict five-times fee penalty for post-allotment cancellations.
Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) issued a notice regarding the KCET 2026 third-round seat allotment. KEA has clarified that options entered by candidates in previous rounds will not be considered for third round. Candidates eligible and wish to participate in Round 3 will have to enter their choices afresh through official option-entry portal.
KEA has advised candidates to enter preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. Candidates should include only those options they are genuinely interested in joining, as the third-round allotment will be based on merit and options entered by candidates.

KCET 2026 Round 3: Fresh option entry mandatory
According to the KEA notice, candidates participating in third round must submit a fresh list of options. Choices entered during earlier rounds will not automatically be carried forward.
Candidates are advised to enter all colleges and courses they are willing to accept, in their preferred order, and save or submit the options within the prescribed deadline.
KEA has also cautioned candidates against entering options merely because seats are displayed as available. Candidates should carefully consider their preferences before submitting the final option list.
Which seats will be considered for Round 3?
The third-round seat allotment will consider seats that remain unallotted after the earlier round. It will also include seats arising from various circumstances, including seats of candidates who selected Choice 4 in the second round, cancelled or forfeited seats and newly added seats.
KEA has stated that the availability of seats may change periodically due to cancellation, forfeiture or addition of seats.
The Round 3 allotment will cover courses under the UGCET admission process, including engineering, architecture, veterinary, agriculture science, pharmacy, B.Sc Nursing, Yoga and Naturopathy, BPT, BPO, Allied Health Sciences and other applicable courses.
No further choice opportunity after Round 3 allotment
One of the key instructions in the KEA notice is that candidates will not get another opportunity to modify their choices after the third-round seat allotment result is published.
Therefore, candidates are advised to enter their options carefully and only select colleges and courses where they are prepared to take admission if allotted.
The authority has also warned candidates about the financial consequences of cancelling an engineering seat after the third round.
