6 interns suspended in GMC Nagpur for allegedly ragging first-year MBBS student

In a government-run medical college in Nagpur, six senior students have been suspended by the college administration for allegedly ragging a junior MBBS student. The dean of the college, Dr Raj Gajbhiye, has confirmed the action taken by the college.

As per the report, the students were also debarred from their internship.

The victim in this incident had secretly filmed a video of the incident and lodged a complaint by mailing it to the central anti-ragging committee of the college.

After receiving the video along with the victim's complaint, the central committee directed the college administration to start the action. After which Dr Raj Gajbhiye immediately issued orders for suspending the internship of the students and also asked them to vacate the hostel, the official said.

The anti-ragging committee of the college also lodged a complaint with Ajni police station but no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered yet, police sources said, as reported by Devdiscourse.
