9 medicos arrested for ganja consumption, peddling
Nine medicos including five men and four women have been arrested for the consumption and peddling of ganja.
Central Crime Branch(CCB) has arrested nine persons including doctors of medical and dental students on charges of consumption and peddling of ganja. Those arrested medicos include five men and four women.
Among these nine accused, there are students, and doctors of medical and dental colleges. The students were pursuing their undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
The five men medicos arrested included two medical officers and three students and women were pursuing MBBS and BDS final year, as reported by Daijiworld.
The arrested have been identified as Dr Sameer (32) from Kerala, Dr Nadia Siraj (24) from Kerala, Dr Manimaran Muthu (28) from Tamil Nadu, Dr Riya Chadha (22) from Chandigarh, Dr Khsithij Gupta (25) from Delhi, Dr Varshini Prati (26) from Andhra Pradesh, Dr Bhanu Dahiya (27) from Chandigarh, Dr Ira Basin (23) from Maharastra, Neil Kishorilal Ramji Shah and Mohammad Rauf Ghaus (34) from Maripalla, Bantwal, as reported by Mangalorean.com.
"On getting information from reliable sources, the CCB police arrested Neil Kishorilal Ramji Shah a UK National of Indian Origin pursuing his medical education in Mangaluru. For the past 15 years, he has been studying in Mangaluru and unable to complete his education. During investigations, Neil revealed that he was supplying drugs to medical students," said Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar.
2 kgs of ganja, mobile phones, cash and a toy pistol were seized from Neel Kishorilal's possession. As per the report, he was produced before the court with sufficient supporting evidence. Later a raid was conducted and the other accused were arrested from PGs, Hostels and rented houses.
The operation was carried out under the direction of Police commissioner Shashi Kumar N IPS, and the guidance of DCP Law and Order Anshu Kumar and DCP Crime and Traffic Dinesh Kumar, and also under CCB Inspector Shyam Sundar and team.
