Agra government medical college: Two quack doctors arrested
Firozabad police have arrested two men for reportedly posing as doctors in Government Medical College in Agra.
In Agra, two quack doctors have been arrested by police from a Government Medical College (GMC). The accused names are Sanket Kumar and Deepak Yadav, they were reportedly posing as doctors and even caught treating patients at the trauma centre during an inspection conducted by a doctors' team including the principal of the college.
As per TOI report, the doctors' team conducted the inspection after receiving extortion complaints from patients and their family members.
"The two men handed over by the administration were booked under IPC section 420 (cheating and dishonesty) and sent to jail. The matter is under investigation," said Sanjeev Dubey, Firozabad north police station house officer.
The initial investigation has revealed that one of the accused is a relative of a doctor on duty, and that's the reason why the staff never complained about them to the college authorities. Also, some of the hospital staff supported them in their illegal activities. The accused also made an arrangement with the private ambulance drivers and the patients were being transferred in private ambulances instead of the government ambulances in exchange for a commission.
