AIIMS Nagpur gets new Executive Director - Prashant P. Joshi

Dr (Prof) Prashant P. Joshi takes charge as the new Executive Director of AIIMS Nagpur. Physician, Educationist & Researcher; Former Professor & HOD of Medicine at AIIMS Nagpur, Dr Joshi has an illustrious career spanning 4 decades in patient care, medical teaching & medical research, said the medical college in a message posted on X platform.

“The students, faculty and staff @AIIMSNagpur bids farewell to Dr (Prof) M Hanumantha Rao, Executive Director, AIIMS Nagpur during a solemn ceremony held today. AIIMS Nagpur fraternity wishes him a healthy future & success in all endeavours,” said AIIMS Nagpur's message on X.

About Executive Director Prashant P. Joshi

His qualifications include MBBS and MD in Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of Newcastle, Australia. He is a recipient of the Rockefeller Foundation Fellowship for Training in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Newcastle, Australia, there are 172 Research Publications in top, prestigious, high-impact factor Journals like JAMA, NEJM, BMJ, Lancet, WHO Bulletin, JACC, Am J of Trop Med, etc. Ex-Chairman, Research Subcommittee, Indian Clinical Epidemiology Network (IndiaCLEN, USAID Funded), 2002-2004 and Ex-Director Clinical Epidemiology Unit, GMC, Nagpur. He is an Academic Council Member and Member Research Advisory and Monitoring Board, DMMIMS (Deemed University), Sawangi, Wardha.

Recently, the Dept. of Pharmacology & IEC at AIIMS Nagpur conducted a Workshop on Good Clinical Practice & New Drugs Clinical Trial Rules 2019. The workshop inaugurated by former ED, Dr M H Rao, was attended by 75 participants from various dept. of AIIMS Nagpur & colleges in Vidarbha.
