All India Institute of Ayurveda, Western Sydney University to set up Ayurveda Chair
All India Institute of Ayurveda and Western Sydney University Australia have signed an MoU to appoint an Academic Chair in Ayurveda.
All India Institute of Ayurveda under the Ministry of Ayush and Western Sydney University Australia have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an academic chair in Ayurveda.
The new Academic Chair will undertake collaborative and academic research activities in Ayurveda. It includes short-term and medium-term courses, yoga, and herbal medicine, and design academic standards. The new Chair is also expected to conduct conferences, seminars and workshops on Ayurveda.
The Ayurveda Academic Chair appointment is jointly funded by the Ministry of Ayush and Western Sydney University. The funding is expected to begin early in 2022. The Chair will be based at Western Sydney University’s NICM Health Research Institute with a tenure period of three years. The place is located on the West mead campus.
Professor Tanuja Nesari, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda and Professor Barney Glover Vice-Chancellor and President, Western Sydney University, Australia have signed the MoU.
Ayurveda and other AYUSH related treatment have become a choice by many Indians, especially during the deadly waves of the Covid-19 pandemic. Ayurveda provides healing with the use of natural products and students have also begun to opt for a formal study in the science of Ayurveda.
