Amit Shah inaugurates Audiology College at Ahmedabad Hospital

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the College of Audiology at the Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

While his visit to Gujarat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has inaugurated the College of Audiology at the Sola Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad.

His tweet reads, “Inaugurated ‘Annakshetra’ and newly built ‘College of Audiology’ at Sola Civil Hospital, Gandhinagar today. While on the one hand, the relatives of the patients will get free food from the Annakshetra, on the other hand, the youth of the area will get a better education and the public will get the benefit of better health facilities from the college.”

Shortage of staff in Gujarat's GMCs

The state is facing an acute shortage of staff at the government medical colleges and medical institutes run by the GMERS group. In six GMCs nearly 42% i.e. a total number of 1,454 Class I and III posts are lying vacant among the total sanctioned strength of 3,408. Also, among the 2,352 filled posts, about 271 posts are filled by contractual employees while 180 posts are filled by fixed-pay employees. The government has informed that suitable candidates could not be found and hence these posts are lying vacant.

Amit Shah to table Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill in Lok Sabha today

He is scheduled to introduce the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill for the preservation of records for identification and investigation. It proposes to allow police to collect finger impressions, footprint impressions, photographs, palm prints impressions, iris and retina scans, physical and biological samples, their analysis, behavioural attributes including signatures, handwriting, etc, as reported by Hindustan Times.
