The Directorate of Medical Education, Assam, has announced the schedule for the Assam NEET PG Counselling 2025 Round 1. The registration process will begin on November 6, 2025, and the last date is November 9, 2025. The choice filling and locking window will be open from November 10 to November 11, 2025, at 5 PM.

The Assam NEET PG Counselling 2025 will be conducted for the 50 per cent State Quota seats for MD and MS courses offered at the medical colleges in Assam. DME Assam has stated, “Candidates who appeared in NEET-PG-2025 conducted by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi and who meets the cut-off percentiles in NEET PG-2025 may participate in the online counselling.”

The Assam NEET PG Counselling 2025 process will be conducted only in online mode, except for the institute reporting, wherein candidates have to be present in the allotted institute for document verification and admission fee payment.

Q:   What is the basic eligibility criteria for Assam NEET PG counselling?
A:

Candidates should have qualified NEET PG with minimum cut off for Assam NEET PG counselling. The other eligibility criteria are given below:

  • Candidates must be the permanent resident of the State.

  • They should have an MBBS pass certificate from any college/institute/university affiliated with the Medical Council of India.

  • Candidates must have completed 1-year internship within the stipulated date as stated by NMC.

  • Candidates should have obtained a medical registration certificate from NMC or State Medical Council (SMC).

Q:   Can I submit my application form offline for Assam NEET PG counselling?
A:

No, the Assam NEET PG counselling application form will be available in online mode only. Candidates will have to visit the official website of DME Assam to register and then fill and submit the choices. Applications sent by post, or any other mode, will not be accepted.  

Q:   How many seats are allotted through Assam NEET PG counselling?
A:

Last year, Assam NEET PG counselling was held for allocation of around 652 MD/MS and Diploma seats. This year, the number of seats may vary. The actual number will be known once DME Assam releass the seat matrix. Assam NEET PG counselling 2025 dates and schedule will be announced tentatively in the last week of September 2025.
