The National Testing Agency has cancelled NEET 2026 exam. Right after the announcement, controversy around NEET UG 2026 exam cancellation has reached the Supreme Court of India. Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has filed a plea alleging “systemic failure” by NTA to conduct NEET UG 2026 exam. The news comes a day after NTA NEET UG 2026 cancelled following allegations of a NEET 2026 paper leak on May 3 examination.

NEET UG Exam Supreme Court News Today
As per the latest update, FAIMA has filed a petition through advocate Tanvi Dubey requesting the apex court to either replace or restructure NTA for conducting NEET in the future. Amid searches for “will there be re neet 2026”, lakhs of aspirants are awaiting clarity on what is next after NEET UG 2026 exam cancellation.
NEET paper leak: FAIMA Seeks Re-NEET 2026 Under Court's Surveillance
According to the plea filed, FAIMA has requested SC to supervise the entire re-examination process until a new independent examination authority is created. If this has been ratified, students can expect a delay in announcement of NEET 2026 re exam date.

NEET 2026 Re-exam Date
While the exact date for NEET 2026 re-exam is yet to be announced, students can expect the date and time of the examination soon by NTA at neet.nta.nic.in. The re neet 2026 expected date can be anytime soon. As NTA usually conduct NEET exam in the first Sunday of the month, the authorities may conduct the exam in the first week of June 2026. However, the official confirmation on the same is expected soon.
NEET 2026 Latest News: Petition to Conduct NEET in CBT Mode
The petition has also requested Supreme Court to conduct NEET UG exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) format. The federation also requested “digital locking” of question papers to eliminate physical availability of question paper, which will avoid any further nta neet paper leak controversy.

The AIIMS accepts NEET scores for admission to the MBBS. Students need to obtain the NEET cut off percentile and scores to get shortlisted for counselling in AIIMS MBBS course. The NEET 2025 cutoff scores for generally category was 686-144. So, a general category student with 550 marks cannot take admissions to AIIMS.

CBI Inquiry NEET 2026 Update
The plea further requested Supreme Court to direct CBI to submit a status report within four weeks. The report shall include details of arrests, persons charged and culprits linked to the alleged NEET paper leak.
