Centre's Chintan Shivir on functioning of AIIMS starts today

The Centre has organised a two-day Chintan Shivir (introspection camp) on the functioning of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), read here to know more.

For the first time, the Centre has planned a Chintan Shivir on a theme relating to the functioning of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). It will be a two-day introspection camp based on the functioning of AIIMS. Earlier it was scheduled to be organised on August 24 and August 25, but later on, it was rescheduled for September 1 and September 2.

The Chintan Shivir will see the participation of directors from all the AIIMS colleges in India and they will discuss how all AIIMS can be a common platform for various clinical research purposes.

As per the First India report, the experts and stakeholders will discuss standards of teaching, learning, research and service delivery for patients. The other focus will be patient satisfaction in AIIMS like developing institutional procedures to make facilities available 'at ease' to the patients.

Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated three-day “Swasthya Chintan Shivir” in May

The union health minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated a Chintan Shivir in Gujarat in May this year. On the occasion, he informed that the Centre and states are increasing their health budgets so that affordable healthcare can be made available to all. He highlighted that through PM-ABHIM, Govt of India has allotted INR 64,180 Cr for strengthening public health infrastructure across all states/UTs while the overall health budget in the last 6-7 years increased from INR 37,000 Cr to INR 86,000 Cr.

Praising India’s COVID warriors and frontline workers, Dr Mandaviya noted that “the entire world is appreciating India’s COVID management model and vaccination drive. To achieve 1st dose coverage of vaccines for 95% of all adults is hugely commendable”, he stated.
