DAVV debars two medicos from writing exams for two years

After two MBBS students were caught cheating using micro-sized Bluetooth devices installed surgically into their ears, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) debarred them from writing exams for two years.

An unfair means (UFM) committee of the college cancelled their existing exams and debarred the students for two years, as reported by Free Press Journal.

Deputy registrar (exams and confidential) Rachana Thakur said that both the students had micro-size Bluetooth devices fitted into their ears. “It seemed that the Bluetooth devices were installed surgically inside their ears. Some doctor/s may do it,” she added.

The background

The MBBS Third Prof (Part-II) exams of a detained batch were going on at MGM Medical College. Nearly, 50 students from Aurobindo Medical College, Indus Medical College, and MGM Medical College were taking exams.

A flying squad of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) raided the exam centre in February and caught the students cheating. The squad members found negligence on part of MGM College and they expressed their displeasure with the centre superintendent over the issue. The squad members found only one female observer at the centre.

When the squad members checked a student, they found a mobile phone in his pocket connected to some Bluetooth device. When the student was quizzed about the device, the student said that the Bluetooth device is in one of his ears. Another MBBS student at the centre who was also cheating got nervous, and his moves were spotted by the team and they searched and caught him too.
