A 3rd-year medical student hailing from Anantnag Jammu and Kashmir pursuing MBBS in Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College Bangladesh has died in an accident, family has appealed to authorities to help them in bringing her body back. 

J&K MBBS student dies in Bangladesh; Family awaits body

In a tragic incident, a young medico from Anantnag Jammu and Kashmir, India, pursuing MBBS in Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College Bangladesh has died reportedly after falling from the roof of her hostel building. The family is waiting for the body to reach India.

Jammu & Kashmir Medical Student Association tweeted, "In a tragic accident, it's very unfortunate that we lost a 3rd year Student hailing from Anantnag Jammu and Kashmir, India student pursuing MBBS in Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College Bangladesh. Our sympathies to the bereaved family. We request please facilitate her corpse."

Dr Owais Hamied Dar, Ex-General Secretary Doctors Association Kashmir, tweeted, "Budding Dr hailing from #Anantnag J&K, India namely Dr Khushboo Manzoor pursuing MBBS at KYAMCH Sirajganj, Bangladesh died in an accident in Bangladesh. Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is requested to help the family in bringing back the dead body of deceased."

"Khusboo Manzoor daughter of Manzoor Ahmad of Katoo village of Bijbehara fell off her hostel building of the college on Tuesday, following which she was in ICU, however, succumbed to her injuries today," said a family member, as reported by Kashmir life.

Several Kashmiri politicians have appealed to External Affairs Ministry to help repatriate the body of the deceased student.

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted, "The family is desperate to get the mortal remains of Khushboo so she can be buried by the family and loved ones at home rather than far away surrounded by strangers. Please help."
