Jamia Hamdard (JH) in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Department of Jaipur National University (JNU) has organized a webinar on Modern Scientific Concepts in Physiotherapy with a focus on “Basic Concepts Of Dry Needling Examination and Manual Therapy Of Lumbopelvic Complex."

Jamia Hamdard (JH) in collaboration with the Physiotherapy Department of Jaipur National University (JNU) has organized a webinar on Modern Scientific Concepts in Physiotherapy with a focus on “Basic Concepts Of Dry Needling Examination and Manual Therapy Of Lumbopelvic Complex."

The webinar was organized by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jamia Hamdard (JH).

The webinar was attended by clinicians, academicians, and students from all over India. More than 500 people attended it. The webinar was addressed by the Head, Department of Rehab. Sciences, JH, Prof. Ona P Desai and Head, Department of physiotherapy, JNU, Dr Atul Singh. Dean, Prof. Dr Manju Chugani addressed the participants with her words of encouragement and appreciation for all the attendees.

They emphasized the importance of such webinars for the upliftment of the profession, especially during the lockdown wherein Jamia Hamdard is committed to utilizing all ICT platforms optimally, skilled development programs and also with the joint collaborations with universities and hospitals.

One of the sessions was on the introduction on the role of Dry Needling in Rehabilitation, during which Dr Deepak Malhotra (PT), Assistant Professor, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Jamia Hamdard enlightened the students with the key principles of the technique and demonstrated the stepwise procedure for administration of the technique along with its precautions, indications and contraindications.

In another session, the second speaker,  Dr Himanshu Mathur (PT), Assistant Professor, JNU. He focused on the clinical assessment of the lumbopelvic spine and how a detailed assessment can lead to accurate diagnosis and faster recovery.

He also demonstrated techniques of manual therapy to treat pathologies of the lumbopelvic spine. After the completion of both the sessions, the speakers answered questions regarding any queries related to the two topics.
