The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates (NEET-UG) was sucessfully conducted on May 4 where 20.8 Lakh candidates appeared for the entrance examination at 5,453 exam centres in India and 13 cities abroad. While the examination was conducted 'smoothly' nationwide, several instances of NEET 2025 fraud have been recorded. Reportedly, two individuals from Bihar, five from Rajasthan and two from Karnataka have been arrested in three separate incidents of the NEET UG fraud case in 2025. 

NEET UG Controversy: Case Filed Concerning Religious Beliefs 

Karnataka Police has filed an FIR against two staff deployed at the NEET UG exam centre who allegedly asked to remove the 'janivara' (sacred thread worn by Brahmins). Reportedly, the candidate was asked to remove the sacred thread before entering the examination hall. Later, the aspirant filed a complaint against the staff. 

NEET UG 2025 Latest News: 5 Held in Rajasthan for Carrying Forged Documents 

Rajasthan Police has arrested five individuals in Rajasthan for attempting to take the NEET 2025 exam using prohibited documents and items disallowed in the examination premises. Reportedly, the police have recovered Bluetooth devices and fake documents from the culprits. 

NEET 2025 Exam Fraud: MBBS Doctor From Bihar Arrested for Proxies

The Bihar Police arrested two individuals, including one MBBS doctor for allegedly arranging proxy candidate to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates on behalf of the original candidate with the help of fake admit cards.

Reportedly, the two individuals charged INR 2.5 lakh and INR 5 Lakh per candidate to appear as a proxy in the entrance examination. The accused admitted to arranging proxies at exam centres in Samastipur and elsewhere to help candidates gain medical college seats, as reported by Medical Dialogues.
