NEET MDS: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2026 has concluded today, May 2, 2026. NEET MDS was from 2 to 5 PM in computer-based mode across various centres in the country. Candidates who appeared for NEET MDS described overall paper as moderate in level in difficulty. Some of them mentioned that mix of easy and tricky questions from important subjects.
Based on initial reactions from students and experts, expected cutoff for NEET MDS 2026 may remain similar to previous years. Also, after conclusion of NEET MDS, NBEMS is expected to release result soon. Candidates will be able to check their marks on official website.

NEET MDS Answer Key 2026 Updates
National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has issued official clarification regarding release of NEET MDS 2026 answer key. NBEMS stated that no answer key or answer sheet will be shared with candidates. Board emphasised that NEET MDS is a proprietary examination conducted exclusively by NBEMS, and all its contents are confidential in nature.
Commonly asked questions
NBE or the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the NEET MDS exam conducting authority, releases the cutoff scores or the qualifying scores along with the result. The NEET MDS 2025 result was released on May 15, 2025. The NEET MDS 2025 cutoff was also released on the same date. However, on August 14, 2025, NBE released a notice stating the reduction of the NEET MDS 2025 cutoff percentile by 19.863 percentile for all categories, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recommendation.
The NEET MDS cut off is the qualifying marks that a candidate needs to clear the exam and participate further in the counselling process. Candidates who fail to get the cutoff marks do not get into the merit list and are also ineligible for the NEET MDS counselling.
On analysing last three year cutoffs, the expected NEET MDS ranks for DY Patil Pune cutoff 2024 for R1 for the General category All India students may range as follows for top courses:
- For MDS in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics may range between 4357 and 5773.
- For MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery may range between 3304 and 6308.
- For MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics may range between 4140 and 7695.
- For MDS in Oral Medicine and Radiology may range between 12191 and 14143.
- For MDS in Periodontology may range between 9767 and 13098.
