As scheduled, the NEET PG counselling 2022 special stray vacancy round commenced today, January 6, with choice filling and payment of security deposit.

NEET PG 2022: Special Stray Vacancy Round Starts Today

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2022 special stray vacancy round today, January 6, 2023. 

For this round, there will be no new registration and pre-registered candidates who are not holding any seat are eligible to participate. However, the candidates need to fill in choices as MCC will not consider any choices filled in previous rounds.

"All Registered candidates irrespective of their category are required to pay a Refundable Security Deposit of INR 50,000 for participation in Special Stray Vacancy Round," reads MCC's statement. 

The payment of the security deposit can be done by 4 pm on January 8, 2023, and choice filling and locking will end by 11:59 pm on January 8, 2023.

MCC adds one seat to NEET PG counselling 2022 special stray vacancy round

The committee has added one more seat to the counselling round. The official notification reads, "In compliance to WMP. No. 88 of 2023 in Rev. Appl. 1 of 2022 (Madras High Court). Para 4 stating that โ€œIn order of the above, there will be a direction to the Director General of Health Services/ third respondent to include the seat vacated by the petitioner in the said counseling, which will commence from 06.01.2023โ€."

"This is to inform that 01 seat of OBC (PwD) in subject M.D. General Medicine is being included in seat matrix of special stray vacancy round of NEET-PG 2022. This is to further inform that seat will be allotted purely on merit basis," added MCC's notification.
