NEET PG Admission Scam

NEET PG Admission Scam: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has refused to grant anticipatory bail to a man accused of allegedly taking INR 14.25 lakh from a person on the promise of securing his son's admission to an MD/MS course through the NEET PG counselling process. The High Court observed that allegations involving attempts to bypass the standard admission system by offering seats in exchange for money are serious and cannot be treated as a commercial or contractual dispute.

Justice Virinder Aggarwal, Punjab and Haryana High Court, observed that if such allegations are proved, they could affect the fairness, transparency and credibility of the PG medical admission process. The court held that the investigating agency must be allowed to trace the alleged money trail. The court also ordered the identification of other persons involved. In this way, the court wants to understand the method through which the alleged admission arrangement was operated.

Following this, when the complainant sought a refund and threatened legal action, the accused allegedly refused to return the amount and issued threats.
