NEET SS counselling 2026

The Medical Counselling Committee has announced an important note for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for super speciality medical aspirants. As per the notification, the authority is allowing NEET SS round 1 seat resignation without the forfeiture of the candidate's security deposit. The notice has been released following the decision by the Directorate General of Health Services to protect the interests of the students. However, the board has notified that the NEET SS round 1 seat registration without forfeiture of security deposit does not bind it for further counselling rounds. 

NEET SS Counselling 2025: Seat Resignation Last Date 

Eligible candidates have a few days to complete the seat resignation process. The last date to resign NEET SS round 1 seats and collect original certificates is August 4, 2026.

Candidates have to physically approach their currently allotted medical colleges to initiate the seat resignation process. They must collect all their submitted documents before the deadline. Failing to report within the stipulated timeline will automatically lock their current allotted seat.

Q:   What is the NEET SS counselling registration fee?
A: 

To complete the registration process for NEET SS counselling, candidates have to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 5,000 online. They will have to transfer a security deposit of INR 2,00,000. The security deposit will be adjusted against the academic fees for those who have been allotted a seat through the counselling of NEET SS. The amount will be refunded to the candidates who do not get the seat allotted to them or those who opt out of the counselling process refusing the seats allotted to them. The various modes of paying the NEET SS counselling registration fee are Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and UPI.

The council has issued conditions for the exit process. Candidates must ensure that their official resignation letter is generated online only. The college authorities must conduct the process through the MCC portal link. Any physical or offline resignation letters issued by colleges will not be valid. The counselling committee will treat all offline resignations as null and void.
