NEET UG 2025 exam scheduled to be conducted today i.e. May 4, 2025 is under centre's tight survillilience owing to previous year NEET paper leak case. Over 22.7 lakh candidates will be appearing for this UG medical entrance test at 5453 centres in India and 13 cities abroad. 

NTA NEET UG Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued informatory guidelines against rumours and misleading information for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) scheduled to be conducted today i.e. May 4, 2025. The agency has assured students and the stakeholders that preparations and logistical arrangements have been made in order to conduct the examination fairly and avoid the NEET UG 2025 paper leak case. Besides, after flagging around 1,500 suspicious NEET-UG paper leak claims, NTA has also warned that anyone found guilty of adopting any unfair means will face stringent penalties as per the Prevention of Unfair Means Act. 

NEET UG 2025: Over 22.7 Lakh Students Appearing 

NTA has notified that over 22.7 lakh candidates across the country and abroad will be appearing for NEET UG 2025 exam, conducted for admission to undergraduate medical courses at medical, dental, nursing and ayush institutes across India. The examination will be conducted between 2 PM to 5 PM at 5,453 centres in India and 13 cities abroad. 

NEET 2025: 165 Telegram Channels Banned 

In order to avoid NEET UG 2025 paper leak controversy like the previous year, NTA has taken action against 165 telegram channels and 32 Instagram accounts disseminating false information and spreading baseless rumours about NEET UG 2025 question papers. Reportedly, several people on Telegram allegedly deceive students to provide the NEET question paper 2025 in exchange for money. 

NEET UG 2025 Latest News: Cases Reported from Gujarat and Odisha

NTA has reported that appropriate actions have been taken against a case reported in the Media from Rajkot, Gujarat, where an individual allegedly tried to offer inflated marks in the NEET 2025 examination in exchange for money. Further, the police have taken necessary actions against another case from Odisha, where individuals tried to deceive students by fraudulent means and false assurances. 

Furthermore, NTA has warned students and their guardians to remain attentive and not to fall for individuals and groups involved in manipulating and misleading them for any unfair activity under NEET UG 2025. No, once the NEET city slip is issued by NTA, it is not permitted to request for change in the exam city. NTA tries to allot the NEET exam city based on candidates' first preference. However, there may be situations where it is not possible to allot the preferred city. Hence, candidates have to make the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements accordingly, instead of approaching NTA to change the exam city.
