National Institute of Siddha (NIS) has published Agathiyar Gunavagadam book to commemorate the opening of the new OPD block. It was translated from 350 years old palm manuscripts. The Siddha Legend Late Dr. T. Thirunarayan obtained this palm leaf manuscript as part of their CTMR operations.

Agathiyar Gunavagadam was released by Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Government of India, and the book was received by Pramod Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of Ayush.

As per the official statement, the ceremony was held in the dignified presence of Thiru. Ma. Subramanian Health Minister of the Tamil Nadu Government and Thiru. S. Ganesh, commissioner of the Directorate of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy in Chennai, Prof. Dr K. Kanakavalli, DG.

Dr T. Thirunarayan and his team obtained the palm manuscripts from Mr Ramesh, the son of Mr Vaelayudam and the grandson of Vaidyar Venugopala Pillai, who practised Siddha medicine in the Cuddalore district. Mr Ramesh lives in Muthukrishnapuram, Vellore.
