NISER Bhubaneswar to get Cancer Hospital, says Dharmendra Pradhan
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that a cancer hospital with an investment of INR 650 crore will be established in the NISER campus, Bhubaneswar.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has confirmed that the NISER campus, Bhubaneswar will get a cancer hospital with an investment of INR 650 crore of which INR 400 will be provided by the Government of India and INR 250 will be given by Tata Trust.
In regard to this state-of-the-art cancer hospital, a meeting was held in New Delhi and it was attended by Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi and senior officials of the Ministry of Skill Development and Department of Atomic Energy.
Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted, "Together with @DrJitendraSingh ji, Smt. @AprajitaSarangi ji and senior officials of @MSDESkillIndia and Department of Atomic Energy held a meeting for the establishment of a state-of-the-art cancer hospital at @niser_official Bhubaneswar campus."
"A skill development centre will also come up at @niser_official to cater to the skilling requirements of medical professionals at the cancer hospital," he said in another tweet.
"In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision the cancer care hospital & skill development centre at NISER will strengthen treatment facilities,scale up competencies of health professionals & initiate high-quality research to meet emerging requirements in the field of oncology," he further added.
Aparajita Sarangi, Member of Parliament tweeted, "It is like a dream come true. Was very keen on a Cancer Hospital - a hub of Tata Memorial- at NISER campus in 'Bhubaneswar. Had met Minister @DrJitendraSingh in Feb, 2020. Closely followed up on this. Today we all sat with Minister Sri @dpradhanbjp & officials.Will come up soon."
