NMC grants Continuation of Recognition for MBBS admissions 2023; Know details here
Considering that the registration of the NEET UG 2023 counselling is all set to start from July 20, 2023, NMC has granted permission to medical colleges whose recognition / CoR was due with same student intake as in the previous year. Read here to know more.
Medical Counselling Committee has recently announced the schedule of NEET UG 2023 counselling, and the registration is starting from July 20, 2023. Since, the counselling process is about to start for admission to MBBS and BDS courses 2023, National Medical Counselling allowed continuation of recognition of MBBS degree for the year 2022-23.
The permission is granted to the colleges whose Recognition/Continuation of Recognition was due upto the year 2023.
The official notification in this regard reads, "Considering the schedule for counseling of NEET-UG 2023, Medical Colleges/Institutions that were due for Recognition/CoR due upto year 2023 and have not been communicated for specific denial or stoppage of admission for the academic year 2023-24 by MARB/NMC, are hereby granted recognition for a period of one year only (AY 2022-23), for all the admitted MBBS batches upto the academic year 2018-19."
"These medical colleges/institutiohs are allowed to admit fresh batch of MBBS students with the same intake as in the academic year 2022-23," added the notification.
Reacting to this, Dr Rohan Krishnan, the National Chairman of Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) tweeted, "Congratulations to @NMC_IND, permission wdout inspection is oly possible by d grt NMC. I believe the officials of MCI is laughing at you as they were removed to bring positive changes in med education. @mansukhmandviya @PMOIndia sir shd change all the officials of NMC."
