NMC Releases Seat Matrix for UG, PG Courses; Check Branch-wise Intake
A total of 54,855 seats in undergraduate and postgraduate courses have been notified including MD/ MS/ Diploma and DNB courses as well as DM/ MCh courses. The distribution of seats in core specialities, including General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology, and Pediatrics have been announced by NMC.
The authorities have released the seat distribution for several courses including NEET PG and NEET SS courses. Core specialities such as General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery, Anaesthesiology, and Pediatrics. In addition, the NEET SS data mentions into advanced training opportunitites in super specialities such as Neurology, Surgical Oncology, Endocrinology, Cardiology and other programmes.
"All the Medical Colleges/Institutions are requested to check and verify the number of seats against their colleges and point out discrepancies (if any) along with supporting documents to Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), NMC on the following e-mail ids within 15 days". The official notification reads.
NMC has released the state-wise list of MBBS, PG medical and super speciality seats across the medical colleges of the country. Karnataka state has the highest number of MBBS seats while the most medical colleges are currently operational in Uttar Pradesh state.
NMC has asked the medical colleges across the country to report discrepancies to the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) within the deadline for immediate rectification. Failure to report the discrepancy can impact the updating of seats.
The number of seats sanctioned for the Orthopaedics department was 3,176. Further, the Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy branch has 1503 seats, while the obstetrics and gynaecology department has 4212 seats sanctioned.
