NMC tells medical colleges to follow INC guidelines for Nursing Staff
All medical colleges are instructed by NMC to follow Indian Nursing Council (INC) norms and guidelines for nursing staff.
National Medical Commission (NMC) has instructed all medical colleges to follow the Indian Nursing Council (INC) norms and guidelines for nursing staff.
The Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the NMC observed that some colleges are not adhering to the norms and conditions laid down by the INC.
NMC's notification reads, “It has been brought to the notice of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board of the National Medical Commission that some of the colleges are not adhering to the norms and conditions laid down for staff requirement as per NMC notification - all the hospitals shall have an adequate staff of various cadres as required and conform to the existing norms. The nursing staff shall conform to the norms as drawn by the Indian Nursing Council from time to time.”
“All medical colleges are hereby instructed to follow the above norms and guidelines of MCI for nursing staff,” the notice added.
NMC notifies medical colleges to use only new tax registration numbers
In yet another circular, NMC reiterated that the medical college must transact with NMC using only new tax registration numbers.
"It has been observed that in spite of clear instructions to transact with only new registration numbers, a number of medical institutions and vendors while dealing with NMC still use old tax registration numbers which are in the name of erstwhile Medical Council of India," reads NMC's circular.
