KNRUHS writes to NMC for regulations against seat blocking

The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) has written to the NMC and asked for stringent action and setting up regulations against seat blocking.

The university has suggested that both seats of a student who takes admission to two colleges at the same time must be cancelled for the year to stop seat blocking.

Dr M Karunakar Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, KNRUHS said, “It is not possible to verify and trace suspected cases of seat blocking at the university level, so we had to lodged a police case. Since seat blocking does not fall under any specific law, we have written a letter to the NMC to include seat blocking in their admission regulations. We need to have a definition of what seat blocking is and have stringent rules to stop it by cancelling seats of students if they are found to have two seats simultaneously, ” as reported by TOI.
