The doctors association FORDA has condemned the tragic suicide of an on-duty doctor in Rajasthan and wrote to the Chief Minister demanding withdrawal of the FIR against the doctor and compensation to her family.

Rajashthan: FORDA demands compensation for Late Dr Archana's family

A tragic incident happened in Rajasthan yesterday where an on-duty doctor died by suicide after allegedly being harassed by a patient's family after the patient died due to a medical condition. Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) India has written to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and demanded the withdrawal of the FIR against the Late Dr Archana and also compensation to the family.

FORDA India tweet reads, "Condemning the tragic incident of #Suicide by on-duty Doctor in #Rajasthan, we demand immediate withdrawal of #FIR, compensation to the family of (Late) Dr. Archana & strict compliance of #SupremeCourt Guidelines @ashokgehlot51 @RajCMO @mansukhmandviya @plmeenaINC @ANI @ndtv"

FORDA's letter says, "Strongly condemning this incident, we demand proper investigation of the incident, immediate withdrawal of the FIR & compensation by State Government to the family of (Late) Dr Archana. While urgent measures should be taken to prevent harassment of doctors by patient's attendants, we also demand that strict compliance to court guidelines should be ensured so that such a tragic incident is never repeated in the future."

Don't harass innocent doctors, says late doctor in her suicidal letter

The late doctor had also written a suicidal letter where she mentioned that the patient died due to PPH complications during pregnancy. She has written, "I have not done anything wrong and don't harass innocent doctors, please."
