Rajasthan CS directs officials to address issues delaying construction of medical colleges
While presiding over a meeting, Rajasthan Chief Secretary Usha Sharma directed the officials to address the issues causing a delay in the construction of new medical colleges.
Rajasthan Chief Secretary Usha Sharma presided over a meeting of the Inter-Departmental Empowered Committee which was set up for new medical colleges being established under centrally sponsored schemes. She directed the officials to resolve the issues being faced in the construction of new medical colleges at the earliest and must ensure the timely completion of these institutes.
She instructed officials that departments must work in cooperation with each other and where new medical colleges are proposed, a review meeting should be held regarding the problems being faced in the construction of these medical institutes, as reported by First India.
She also discussed various points with officials including approval of land, drinking water, roads, environment etc of the medical colleges under construction.
625 specialist doctors allocated to hospitals in Rajashthan
As many as 625 specialist doctors have been allocated hospitals attached to their medical colleges. These doctors will be deployed in these hospitals after they complete their course as part of the bond condition they have signed before taking admissions to these medical colleges. As per the bond condition, they need to remain in these hospitals for two years.
As per the TOI report, the highest number of doctors will be deployed in Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's hometown Jodhpur, where 134 doctors have been allocated hospitals. 47 of them got posted at SMS Medical College.
