Six MBBS students in Jhajjar's medical college expelled over ragging charges
Jhajjar police registered a case against six MBBS students under Sections 147, 149, 323 and 506 after a junior student complained against them of ragging. The accused students have been expelled from the World College of Medical Sciences & Research for three months.
In yet another case of ragging, as many as 6 MBBS students of the World College of Medical Sciences & Research in Jhajjar have been expelled from the college for three months after a junior alleged ragging by them.
Victim Tussar Bhati, a second-year MBBS student was allegedly assaulted by senior students at midnight for opposing ragging in the hostel. He was attacked by a rod and had to get six stitches in his head. The student also said that some of his friends were also assaulted by the senior students.
As per the TOI report, the police have registered a case against the six students under Sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of the offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal code.
As per Amar Ujala news, the college management is not permitting anyone to meet the victim student as of now and the chairman of the institute Dr Narendra said that the matter is in his cognizance, and nearly four senior students have beaten Tussar Bhati. The college has established an inquiry committee for the probe.
Last year, NMC constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee with Dr Aruna V Vanikar, President, UGMEB as the chairperson of the committee. The Commission had also directed medical colleges to submit a detailed report on the number of students who have committed suicide during the last 5 years.
