The DMER will soon release the merit list for TN Medical counselling 2026. The authority will publish separate merit list for 85% State Quota seats and 15% All India Quota seats. There will be separate merit list for 7.5% preferential quota seats.

Steps involved in TN Medical counselling choice filling 2026 are

• Login to candidates portal in the website tnmedicalselection.net

• Click on Choice Filling link

• Select your preferred colleges

• Set priority of choices

• Save your choices and lock beforelast date

Candidates will need the following documents during college reporting

• NEET- UG 2026 Admit card
• Class 10 Mark Sheet
• Class 12 Mark Sheet
• Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses
• Certificate for proof of study from 6 to 12 class for the candidates who have studied completely in Tamil Nadu
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Nativity certificate
• Documents of Parent need to be uploaded for the candidate who claim their native as Tamil Nadu for communal reservation: -
  a) Community Certificate of either one of the parents obtained from the competent Revenue Authority in Tamil Nadu
• Special Category Form with relevant certificates for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, Eminent Sports Person and Ex-Servicemen, as applicable, along with the online application form should be uploaded.
• Bonafide Certificate from Chief Educational Officer is mandatory to the candidates who have studied VI to XII Std. in Tamil Nadu Government Schools for 7.5% Special Reservation as mentioned in Annexure-II. 

The exact dates for round 1 TN NEET UG counselling 2026 for rank list, choice filling and seat allotment is yet to be released. The MCC has however notified that the counselling will be held between August 13 to 22, 2026.

Candidates who are applying through state quota seats have to submit nativity/domicile certifcate issued by revenue authority. Also candidates from SC/ST/OBC/BC/BCM/MBC/EWS have to upload category and income certificates. 

The candidates who have applied for MBBS & BDS admission for the year 2026-2027 under the Person’s with Benchmark Disability Quota have to to get their Eligibility Certificate (PwBD) from Medical Assessment board and upload the certificate in the portal from 4th August 2026 till 8th Aug 2026. The PwD certificate can be obtained from following hospitals

• Madurai Medical College and Hospital, Madurai
• Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, Coimbatore

• NEET 2026 result/scorecard
• NEET 2026 admit card
• Class 10 marksheet
• Class 11 mark sheet
• Marksheet of Class 12 or equivalent
• A bona fide certificate stating that the student has passed from Class 6 to Class 12 from a school in Tamil Nadu
• A transfer certificate from the school last studied (or) a bonafide certificate should be produced from where the candidate is undergoing the course at present.
• Nativity certificate (the candidate is a native of Tamil Nadu but has passed Class 6 to Class 12 from an institute outside Tamil Nadu)
• Aadhar Card
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Ration card/Passport

The choice filling for NEET MCC counselling (15% all India quota seats) will start on August 6, 2026.

The registration for 15% all India quota seats will start tomorrow, August 5 at MCC portal.

The categorywise reservation for 15% all India quota seats are

• OBC - 27%
• EWS - 10%
• SC - 15%
• ST - 7.5%
• PwD - 5% Horizontal reservation

The total number of available seats for MBBS is 1,36,939 lakh for the 2026-27 session, as per National Medical Commission latest seat matrix.

Tamil Nadu has 13,999 MBBS seats across 78 medical colleges for the 2026-27 session, following an addition of 950 new seats approved by the NMC this year.

The exact date for TN NEET 2026 rank list release has been not announced. The rank list is expected anytime soon this week.

Candidates will have to bring the following documents while reporting to the institute for admission

• NEET UG 2026 Admit Card & Scorecard

• Provisional Allotment Letter

• Class 10 & Class 12 Pass Certificate & Mark Sheet

• Government Photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, PAN Card, or Driving License)

• Category Certificate (EWS / OBC-NCL / SC / ST / PwD), if applicable

• 8-10 recent passport-sized photographs matching NEET application form

The fee structure for 15% All India quota seats of NEET UG counselling is

Central Institutes Universities:

General / EWS: INR 1,000 (Non-refundable) + INR 10,000 (Refundable Security Deposit).

SC / ST / OBC / PwD: INR 500 (Non-refundable) + INR 5,000 (Refundable Security Deposit).

Deemed Universities:

INR 5,000 (Non-refundable) + INR 2,00,000 (Refundable Security Deposit) across all categories.

The MCC has released complete schedule for 15% all India quota seats. As per the schedule, the registeration for counselling will start on August 5 and choice filling will begin on August 6, 2026.

If a candidate fails to lock choices manually, the server will automatically lock the last saved choices as the submission deadline expires

To finalize the choices, candidate have to lock choice before the last date. Candidates will recieve OTP in their registered mobile number to confirm their filled choices.

The choice filling and locking facility will open once the merit list is released. Only those candidates whose name appears in the merit list will be able to fill choice. The schedule for choice filling will be notified soon.

• Search for your name or Application Number

• Verify your State Common Rank, Community Rank, and NEET Score

The DMER will publish separate merit list for 85% State Quota seats and 15% All India Quota seats. There will be separate merit list for 7.5% preferential quota seats.

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Tamil Nadu, will soon publish the provisional merit list for MBBS and BDS admissions.

The MCC has notified that the Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 round 1 counselling for State Quota Seats will be conducted between August 13 to 22. The detailed schedule for rank list, choice filling and seat allotment will be published soon.  

Choice locking is the process wherein candidates fill and lock their choices online withitn the specified timeline. It is a mandatory step to be exercised by evey candidates for TN NEET choice filling 2026.

Once downloaded, candidates must carefully verify the following information printed on the provisional merit list:

• Candidate Name & Application Number

• NEET UG 2026 Roll Number & All-India Rank (AIR)

• NEET Score / Marks Obtained

• State Rank & Community Rank (BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, SCA, ST)

 DMER Tamil Nadu will release category-specific rank lists to streamline seat allotment. Candidates can check their respective ranks across:

• Government Quota List: For 85% state quota seats in government medical/dental colleges and government quota seats in private self-financing institutions.

• Management Quota List: For management quota seats in private self-financing medical and dental colleges.

• 7.5% Preferential Quota List: Dedicated merit list for eligible Tamil Nadu government school students.

• Special Categories List: For Ex-Servicemen, Eminent Sportspersons, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD).

Candidates can easily download their merit list PDF by following these simple steps:

1. Visit the official portal at tnmedicalselection.net.

2. Click on the 'UG Courses' tab and select the MBBS/BDS section.

3. Click on the "Provisional Rank List for MBBS/BDS 2026-2027 Session" link.

4. Search for your name, NEET Roll Number, or Application Number.

5. Download and save the PDF for choice filling and verification references.

The Directorate of Medical Education & Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, is preparing to release the provisional state merit list for MBBS/BDS admissions on tnmedicalselection.net. Candidates who submitted their counselling applications before the registration deadline will be able to check their state rank and merit position online.

The Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tamil Nadu will soon activate the Round 1 online choice filling link. Candidates who will have their name listed in the provisional state rank list will have to log in to tnmedicalselection.net using their registration credentials to submit their college and course preferences.

Upon seat allotment, tuition fee confirmation requires a Demand Draft drawn in favour of "The Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai-10".

Candidates appearing for choice filling should keep the following original documents scanned and ready:

• NEET UG Scorecard & Admit Card

• Class 10 & 12 Marksheets / Transfer Certificate (TC)

• Nativity Certificate & Community Certificate (if applicable)

• Aadhar Card & Parent's ID/Document Proof

Tamil Nadu NEET counselling will allocate 85% state quota seats in government medical/dental colleges along with 100% seats in private self-financing institutions across Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy rounds.

The online registration window for Tamil Nadu NEET UG counselling officially closed after a brief reopened window. Over 41,000 candidates submitted applications across government and management quota seats.

Once the rank list is published, DME Tamil Nadu will open the online choice-filling portal. Candidates must log in, select their preferred colleges and courses, and lock their preferences before the specified deadline.

The choice filling and seat allotment process for NEET UG counselling for Tamil Nadu will soon start. The schedule is expected to be announced anytime this week.

The Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 rank list will be published soon by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) on the official website. Registered candidates can download the merit list PDF for government quota, management quota, and 7.5% preferential reservation categories.

As per the latest available information, the registration for NEET UG counselling 2026 was available from June 29 to July 27. The rank list will be released soon for Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 counselling after which candidates will have to complete choice filling.

• Indian citizen (OCI allowed as General).
• Qualified NEET UG 2026.
• Native of Tamil Nadu (studied Class 6‑12 elsewhere acceptable).
• No prior MBBS/BDS enrollment.

• Candidates from other states residing in Tamil Nadu cannot claim Tamil Nadu nativity.
• Those who appeared for NEET 2026 as natives of another state are ineligible for Tamil Nadu counselling.
• Non‑native students who studied Class 6‑12 outside Tamil Nadu cannot apply for MBBS/BDS under Government Quota.
• OCI applicants are treated as General and cannot avail any reservation.
• Candidates already enrolled in MBBS/BDS elsewhere cannot re‑apply for the same course.
