In yet another case of suicide by a medical student, a third-year MBBS student of Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital has reportedly died by committing suicide. The medical student died after falling from a building near the hostel. In recent times, many frequent suicide cases by medical and engineering students highlighted the issue of stress among these students.

Third-year MBBS student of Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital commits suicide

As per reports, a third-year MBBS student of Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital has committed suicide and died after falling from a building near the hostel.

The deceased was identified as Hiteshnu Das of Bhimpur village under Sadar block of Balasore district. Before taking the extreme step he was returned to his hostel room after watching a movie in the evening. He had also taken INR 30,000 from his father, as reported by Pragativadi.com.

After jumping from the building, he was taken to hospital where he was declared dead and the body was then handed over to his family members after post-mortem. The police started an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances under which he died.

Two other MBBS students committed suicide in Kolkata, Pune

A second-year MBBS student at ESIC Hospital in Joka allegedly died by suicide in her hostel room on Wednesday morning. She was identified as Yati Garg, a resident of Agra in UP. She was under pressure due to her studies.

In Pune Aditi Dalbhanjan, a first-year MBBS student at Byramjee Jeejeebhoy (BJ) Government Medical College jumped from the terrace of the Sassoon General Hospital building which is attached to the GMC.
