UP govt to introduce 5 new health-related courses
The Uttar Pradesh government is all set to introduce 5 new health-related courses in the state to hone the skills of the nursing and paramedical staff.
As per reports, Chief Minister Yogi led Uttar Pradesh government is all set to introduce 5 new health-related courses to the UP Skill Development Mission.
The courses will be MRI Technician, Dialysis Technician, Anesthesia Technician, Radiotherapy Technician, and OT Technician. The government is also set to make three paramedical and six nursing schools operational and lay the foundation stone for 24 skills labs within six months.
Many colleges fail eligibility test for running nursing courses
A few weeks ago, in UP, more than 600 colleges which were planning to start nursing/paramedical courses, could not clear the inspection test which is mandatory before starting such courses.
“In all 1,160 colleges had applied and, from among them, 200 backed out before inspection while over 300 have been given permission for running nursing and paramedical courses, as they fulfilled the requirements,” said director-general, medical education, Uttar Pradesh, Dr NC Prajapati, as reported by Hindustan Times.
The government intends to set up nursing colleges in government medical colleges as well as district hospitals and increase the seats of nursing courses.
"From 1947 to 2017, merely 12 medical colleges were established in Uttar Pradesh. After coming to power in 2017, the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh is striving to establish 35 new medical colleges in the state. Seventeen of these medical colleges are functional and work on 16 medical colleges is on," the chief minister recently said.
