Enforcement Directorate (ED) has sent notices to five private medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh that allegedly gave admissions to around 200 students illegally.

Vyapam Scam: ED sends notices to 5 medical colleges in MP

Five private medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh have received Enforcement Directorate (ED) notices related to the Vyapam scam. They have been asked to submit relevant documents.

These colleges allegedly gave admissions to nearly 200 students illegally on seats left vacant by the impersonators in PMT 2012-13.

As per reports, some colleges have asked for more time from ED to submit the documents. ED has provisionally attached properties of one college at Indore and is in the process to attach assets of other colleges found involved in the Vyapam scam, as reported by TOI.

Huge money was collected by these medical colleges

As per the allegation, these colleges collected huge money in cash from the students to whom the seats were sold. Those seats were deliberately left vacant and the colleges allotted the seats to students without intimating government and Vyapam.

MP govt yet to take action against 196 students

The state government is yet to follow CBI's recommendation about action against 196 students, who were given admission by these private colleges in stark defiance of set norms.

CBI said, "These colleges deliberately gave false information about admission of candidates and actual vacancies of state-quota seats in their colleges to DME and thereby managed to keep vacancies in their colleges, Then, they gave irregular admission to ineligible candidates on these vacant seats on the last date of admission."

"Investigation has revealed the unholy alliance of the management of these private medical colleges of MP and the ineligible candidates for the purpose of giving/taking admission on vacant state quota seats," added CBI.
