MMCRI to organise UG medical conference from May 28

Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI) is all set to organise and host VAGUS-2022, the UG medical conference from May 28, 2022.

The medical undergraduate students from South India are going to attend the VAGUS-2022 from May 28 to May 29 at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMCRI). The institute is organising and hosting the event which is the UG medical conference to celebrate the institute's centenary in 2024. It is being seen as a passion for better medicine.

In the two days long session, the students are going to learn from experts and resource persons about honing their skills and understanding their areas of interest and pursuing interests in a more methodical way to turn themselves into skilled medical professionals after completing the course, as reported by The Hindu.

The academic initiative is expected to sharpen the skills of medical professionals.

MMCRI VAGUS-2022 Details

This is the first time the programme is being held after the Covid-19 pandemic. Earlier it was held in the year 2018. PG Girish, Director of Medical Education is going to inaugurate the conference at the Platinum Jubilee Hall on JK Ground premises.

HN Dinesh, Dean and Director, MMCRI, Mysuru said, "In VAGUS-2022, as many as 850 students (who are yet to go for their house surgeon ship) have registered. They would start working on the tasks given by the resource persons and experts that goes a long way in shaping their career."

“Here, the students are encouraged to pursue their interests with workshops handled by the expert doctors and consultants. For example, we have a session on heartbeats and students keen in shaping their career in cardiology can get the opportunity of knowing more on the subject. Likewise, there are several other topics that will be discussed and workshops are done. Basically, they are nothing but crash courses,” he added.
