NEET-UG 2022 registrations have reached the record numbers, for the first time crossing 18 lakh.

NEET-UG registration numbers cross 18 lakh, up by 2.6 lakh

The competition is getting tougher with more and more candidates registering for the NEET-UG examination every year. This year, more than 18 lakh NEET-UG 2022 aspirants have registered for the examination, last year the number had crossed the 16 lakh mark.

Moreover, for the first time, the number of female candidates registered for the NEET UG examination has crossed the 10 lakh mark.

As per the TOI report, there is a 274.3% increase in the number of candidates taking the exam in 12 Indian languages in the last five years and registration for examinations in the Tamil language has gone up by 60%.

NEET UG 2022 aspirants demand to postpone the examination

The aspirants have written to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and demanded on the social media platform to defer the examination date, so that they can get more time to prepare as there is not much gap between the NEET 2021 counselling and NEET 2022 exam date and also the examination date that is, July 17 is clashing with that of other entrance examination.

About NEET UG 2022

The examination paper will include a total of 200 questions, of which 180 need to be attempted. The subjects are Physics with 180 marks, Chemistry with 180 marks and Biology with 360 marks. The examination duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes.

The exam will be conducted in 543 centres in India and 14 centres abroad. This year, NEET UG 2022 will be conducted in 13 languages including English, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, Odiya, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, and Punjabi.
