NMC asks Govt, private medical colleges to implement PMNDP
National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the government and private medical colleges providing dialysis services to implement Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Portal.
National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised all the government and private medical colleges providing dialysis services to implement the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Portal (PMNDP) portal to provide smooth delivery of necessary dialysis services to every patient having a unique ABHA ID (UHID) and to improve visibility and have a uniform IT platform for capturing details of all the beneficiaries.
The official notification reads, "It is further informed that the portal (https://pmndp.nhp.gov.in/en) is now fully functional and well stabilized. If any training is required to operate the said portal, it will be organised by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC). The medical colleges can contact Dr Ranjan Kumar Choudhary, Advisor, Healthcare Technologies at ranjan.choudhary@nhsrcindia.org for any assistance and clarification on the matter."
About Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program
Ministry of Health & Family Welfare launched Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program under National Health Mission in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in Union Budget 2016-17 to make Renal-care services affordable to BPL (Below Poverty Line) citizens.
The Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme was rolled out on April 7, 2016, as part of the National Health Mission (NHM) for the provision of free dialysis services to the poor. At the same time, APL (Above Poverty Line) patients are also provisioned to avail of dialysis services at discounted rates.
"PMNDP envisages the provision of providing dialysis services under the NHM to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective services and develop a clinically safe and effective program. While the efforts would continue towards prevention and management of NCDs in the initial stages, providing access to dialysis care to treat End Stage Renal Disease is the key priority," said the government statement.
