Candidates interested to apply for the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) must note that the last date to submit applications is today; i.e November 30, 2021. Candidates can submit the application by visiting the official website; i.e. scholarships.gov.in.  

As per UGC official notice, NSP Scholarship 2021-22 will be given under four schemes. According to the guidelines, both regular and full time students can apply for these scholarships. However, they must be a part of UGC-recognised institutes. Once the application submission is completed, the verification will be done. This process would conclude on December 25, 2021, following which confirmation would be given to candidates. UGC has further advised all institutes to try and complete the verification process by December 15, 2021.  

NSP Scholarship 2021-22: Details 

As mentioned earlier, scholarships would be given under 4 schemes this time. The details have been given below.  

Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child 

The eligibility criteria for the girl students without a brother and Girl students who are twin daughters or fraternal daughters. For details, one must check on the official website. About 3,000 scholarships would be granted under this and the amount would be Rs.36,200 p.a.  

PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder Candidate 

This scheme is for those with "outstanding performance at the undergraduate level, and who are currently pursuing postgraduate education." About 3,000 scholarships would be given under this and the amount is Rs. 3,100 per month for a duration of 2 years.  

Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region 

The aim of this scheme is to provide equal opportunities in higher education to students of the North Eastern states. About 10,000 scholarships would be given under this and the amount would be Rs. 5,400 per month (T&C).  

PG Scholarship for Professional courses for SC/ST students 

Candidates must note that MA, MSc, MCom, MSW and Mass Communication and Journalism programs are not covered under this scheme. About 1,000 scholarships are distributed and the amount is Rs. 7,800 and Rs. 4,500 per month as per the course specifications.
