The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) of Odisha has declared a revised schedule for conducting the Madhyama exams and the State Open School Certificate Examination (SOSCE). 

The exams have been rescheduled due to heatwave conditions prevailing across the state. BSE president Ramashis Hazra has said that the SOSCE and Madhyama examinations, which were scheduled to begin from 11.30 am on May 2 and 4 respectively, will now be held in the first sitting from 8 am on May 9 and 10. As per the official statement issued by BSE, there will be no afternoon shift for these examinations.

Exam guidelines

Reportedly, CCTV surveillance systems have been installed for fair and transparent conduct of exams. School and Mass Education Minister SR Dash said that mobile phones will not be allowed inside the centre. Chief secretary has asked power distribution companies to ensure uninterrupted power supply to examination centres. Authorities concerned have been asked to make provisions for supplying drinking water in all places, as reported by Indian Express.

High School Certificate exams to begin on April 29

There is no change in the schedule of High School Certificate exams and they will start as scheduled to commence on April 29 from 8 am to 10 am. Around 5.85 lakh students will appear for the HSC examinations at 3,303 centres and the Board has also set up 38 special squads and 65 flying squads to check for malpractices during the HSC examination.
