Odisha School Reopening: Odisha schools reopened for students of Class 8. The schools have been reopening while adhering to all the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines. As per the official notification on the official website of the School and Mass Education Department, the government and private schools have been reopened for the students of Class 8 from October 25. The classes are being conducted for the students from 9 AM to 12:30 PM. 

Earlier, the state government had earlier begun the offline classes for the students of Classes 10 and 12 on July 26, 2021, and the classes for the students of class 11 began from October 21, 2021. Meanwhile, the schools are continuing the online classes as well for all those students who are not able to attend the offline classes. The government has stated that students can attend offline classes only with the consent of their parents. 

Since March 2020, classes are being conducted online owing to the COVID-19 outbreak and considering the safety. 

The state government has released the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that have been made mandatory to be followed by schools and teachers. The SOPs have also emphasized the need to maintain social distancing and queue management inside and at the entrance of the school premises along with making markings on the floors to maintain a six feet gap.

Schools have been also asked to make an adequate arrangement for soap and running water in washrooms while hand sanitizers should also be made available for teachers, students, and staff members in each classroom.
