RDA UP writes to DME to appoint new junior residents as senior residents

Residents Doctors Association (RDA) Uttar Pradesh has urged the Director of Medical Education (DME) to appoint newly passed junior residents as senior residents.

RDA UP tweet reads, "@RDA_UP had written to Director Medical Education of @UPGovt to appoint newly passed junior residents as Senior Residents ASAP so that they can restart their services again for common people of #UttarPradesh."

The official notification reads, "The work period of junior resident doctors (MD/MS or Diploma) of NEET PG batch 2019 and 2020 has concluded in May 2022, also examinations are conducted in most of the medical colleges, some even declared the results. Due to the two years service bond in the state, the passed out doctors are not able to provide services in any government and private hospitals, it is also affecting these doctors economically."

"Amid the fear of the fourth wave of Covid-19, the hospitals and medical colleges in the state are experiencing a shortage of doctors. Hence, it's a humble request that these doctors must get posted as per the due process so that they can provide medical services under the medical bond and also their economical condition improves. Most of the PG students are married and they have financial responsibilities, hence even if it is not possible to conduct the counselling then allow the doctors to provide services in their colleges as Senior or Junior residents while the counselling process gets completed, so that common people can get better health care services," the notification added.

e-Hospital Management System being implemented in all medical colleges

The UP government has planned to implement an e-Hospital management system in about 36 medical colleges in the state. The system already has been implemented in 9 medical colleges where billing, registration, and other activities are being done online.
