Talking about the reopening of schools in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Decision on opening school will be taken only after winter vacation.”
Delhi School Reopening: The government of Delhi has Proposed the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining areas (CAQM) regarding the reopening of schools in the National Capital. According to TOI, Environment minister Gopal Rai held a meeting with various departments on Monday to review the air pollution situation. The minister informed that his department had forwarded the education department's proposal to CAQM for the reopening of schools and colleges. The education department has proposed immediate reopening of colleges and schools for Classes 6 and above and reopening of primary schools (until Class 5) from December 20.
The authority would conduct another review meet on December 16. As CAQM has received authorization from the SC for easing anti-pollution curbs, the Delhi government would take appropriate action based on its decision, Rai said.
"The ban on trucks from entering Delhi, barring essential services, will continue. Many agencies requested us to ease the ban on construction and demolition activities. For this, we have directed the agencies to submit written applications to us and CAQM, based on which further action will be taken," said the minister.
Meanwhile, talking about the reopening of schools in Delhi and confirming the date as to when the decision regarding school reopening will be taken, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Decision on opening school will be taken only after winter vacation.”
Schools are expected to continue the teaching and learning process via online mode until a concrete decision is taken on reopening and commencement of offline classes.
