IAF has announced AFCAT (1) 2020 selection list for Flying, Aeronautical Engineering, Administration, Education and Meteorology branches. The courses for Administration, Education and Meteorology Branch at AFA, Dundigal commenced on August 17. The courses for Flying and Aeronautical Engineering branches will commence from August 31.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced AFCAT (1) 2020 selection list for Flying, Aeronautical Engineering, Administration, Education and Meteorology branches. The courses for Administration, Education and Meteorology Branch at AFA, Dundigal commenced on August 17. The courses for Flying and Aeronautical Engineering branches will commence from August 31. Allotment of to these branches has been done taking into consideration eligibility, merit position, medical fitness and choices given by candidates.

The selection of candidates under AFCAT (1) 2020 entry is subject to medical fitness given by the Armed Forces Medical Authorities on submission of requisite documents. Candidates whose medical fitness is subject to appeal or review will be issued call letters only if they are found fit by the competent Armed Forces Medical Authorities. Admission to Air Force Academy (AFA) is subject to achieving medical fitness specified for the branch.

Those candidates whose name appears in the selection list, have cleared medical examination and documents have been verified, are issued call letters. The call letters are send to candidates by post or the scanned copy is mailed to candidates.

Candidates who are unable to submit the requisite certificates, the following procedure will be applicable for the issue of call letters:

  • Seek entry through a bond basis. Call Letters (Bond Basis) will be sent to candidates.
  • Such candidates will be provisionally inducted for training on the submission of an additional bond and a demand draft Rs 46,320.
  • The additional bond and demand draft should not be sent to Air HQ. Candidates should hand it over to the concerned authority at the time of reporting at AFA.

Candidates joining on a bond basis will be required to produce the Original / Provisional Degree Certificate and original mark statements of all semesters to the Training Wing Adjutant, Air Force Academy. Candidates whose final year exams are pending should inform the authorities. A certificate duly signed by the principal of college or university should be sent through email.
