The Chief Minister added that the scheme, which was earlier available only for intermediate-passed youth, will now also cover graduate-passed youth aged 20–25 years who are unemployed

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that the Chief Minister’s Resolves Self-Help Allowance Scheme will now include unemployed graduates in arts, science, and commerce under the Saat Nischay programme.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kumar said: “Since the formation of the new government in November 2005, providing government jobs and employment to more and more youth and empowering and enabling them has been our top priority. You are aware that a target has been set to provide government jobs and employment to one crore youth in the next five years. In the coming times, a large number of new job and employment opportunities will be created in the government and private sectors. To achieve this set target, youth are being provided skill development training so that they can obtain jobs/employment.”

The Chief Minister added that the scheme, which was earlier available only for intermediate-passed youth, will now also cover graduate-passed youth aged 20–25 years who are unemployed, not pursuing further studies, not self-employed, and have not got any government, private, or non-government jobs.

Eligible graduates will receive a monthly allowance of ₹1,000 for up to two years. Kumar said: “I hope that the youth will use this assistance allowance to obtain necessary training and prepare for competitive examinations so that their future can be secured.”

He further said that the scheme aims to ensure that the youth of Bihar become self-reliant, skilled, and focused on employment, so that they can contribute to the development of the state and the country.

Bihar govt officials said the scheme will help young graduates get training and support to prepare for jobs in both government and private sectors.
