The Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) has been deferred by the Karnataka state government due to Coronavirus Outbreak in the country. S. Suresh Kumar, education minister of Karnataka, confirmed the news.

The new KARTET admit card for the new exam dates will be issued by the Karnataka board. The KARTET exam will be conducted in two different sessions for Paper 1 and Paper 2. The duration of the exam will be two and a half hours. Aspirants who want to teach Classes 1 to 5 in Karnataka schools will appear for KARTET Paper 1 and those aspirants who want to teach Classes 6 to 8 will appear for KARTET Paper 2. Candidates who want to teach all classes from Class 1 to 8 are required to appear for both the papers.

Both the papers – 1 and 2 will be of two and a half hours and candidates are required to answer 150 multiple choice questions of 150 marks. Barring the language paper, candidates will have the option to choose the medium of the question paper from the list of languages consisting of Hindi, Urdu, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and English. Before this, the Karnataka TET exam was scheduled to be take place on April 11, 2020. The new date will be announced later.

On January 25, 2020, the online application process for Karnataka TET began. February 25, 2020 was the last date to submit online applications for KARTET. To get the latest updates on the exam, candidates are suggested to visit the official website schooleducation.kar.nic.in.
