UPSC has declared the IES prelims result 2020 on February 20.  The official name of the IES exam is the Engineering Services Exam conducted by UPSC. The IES result 2020 for the prelims exam was released in the pdf format for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

How to Check IES Prelim Result 2020?

  • Go to the official website of UPSC – upsc.gov.in
  • Click on “What’s New” section on the right-hand side
  • Click on the “Written Result Engineering Services Preliminary Exam 2020”
  • The IES Prelims result PDF will open on the screen
  • Search the desired roll number
  • Save the IES prelims result PDF for future reference

UPSC will conduct the IES main exam 2020 on June 28. The UPSC will send the IES admit card for the main exam three weeks before the exam date. It means that the IES admit card 2020 for the main exam will be issued by June 7.

The IES main exam is a conventional type exam. There will be two papers in each subject categories. The time allotted for each paper in three hours and the maximum marks is 300. The total marks of the IES main exam are 600. The candidates need to qualify the exam by securing the more than the IES cut-off marks.

After the main exam, IES interview will be conducted and the candidates who qualify the main exam will be called for the IES interview.

The marks and the IES cut-off will be uploaded by UPSC after the final result of the IES exam. Till then the candidates will not be able to download or get information about their marks. The IES prelims answer key will also be released after the declaration of the IES result 2020.

The IES preliminary exam was conducted on January 5, 2020 for the candidates of four engineering branches.
