West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) will be conducting the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) 2021 Prelims Exam on August 22 across the state. The exam timing will be 12 PM to 2.30 PM. Kolkata Metro has announced to run a special metro service on the day of the prelims exam. Special metro service will begin at 10 AM. The candidates going to appear in the WBCS Prelims 2021 Exam could avail the service by producing their admit card.

WBCS Prelims Exam is conducted offline across the state in pen and paper mode. The candidates need to mark their answers in the answer sheet provided at the exam centre. There is only one paper in the prelims exam, namely ‘General Studies’. There is a negative marking of one by three in the prelims exam. It implied that for every three wrong answers, the marks secured by one right answer will nullify.

WBCS 2021 Prelims exam syllabus denotes all the important topics and subtopics which needs to be prepared. The WBPSC also releases the cutoff marks with the result. The candidates should check the cut off marks of the previous years and get to know the level of preparation required for the WBCS Prelims exam 2021.

The WBCS Prelims 2021 was scheduled to be conducted on March 21, but it was postponed due to state assembly elections. Later, the exam was rescheduled to May 30, but again it was postponed because of COVID-19 pandemic across the state. WBCS 2021 notification was released on December 20, 2020.
