NRA CET 2022 exam is likely to be delayed again. The exam was scheduled to be conducted from early January 2022. Read below for more details.

National Recruitment Agency (NRA) Common Eligibility Test or NRA CET, aimed at preliminary screening of candidates for Group B and C non-technical and non-gazetted posts, is likely to be delayed again. Earlier, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Jitendra Singh, had announced that the first ever NRA CET will be conducted from January 2022 across the country. However, there is no update regarding the exam yet. Moreover, according to some reports, the exam is likely to be delayed due to the COVID-19 cases in the country. A thorough assessment will be carried out by the government to examine the feasibility of conducting the examination and decision will be taken on the next course of action.

NRA is likely to overtake the responsibility of conducting the prelims/tier-I online exam from SSC, IBPS and RRB. The scores of NRA CET will be used to shortlist candidates for the further rounds of selection. There will be separate online NRA CETs for graduates, Class 12 and Class 10 candidates. The exam will be conducted twice a year.  Best available NRA CET score of three years to be considered for selection/recruitment. NRA CET scores can be shared with central government, state governments, Union Territories (UTs), Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and private sector.

Candidates need to be a Graduate to be eligible for the exam. There will be an upper age limit for the exam. The age limit will differ as per the post for which the candidate will apply. However, there will be relaxations in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC), Persons with Disability (PwD), etc. There is no bar on the number of attempts and one can take for the exam, subject to the upper age limit prescribed.
