In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Union Railways Minister, Piyush Goyal, has said that over one lakh candidates have been empanelled through the Railway Recruitment Board in the last three years.

Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in a written reply in the Lok Sabha has said that over one lakh candidates have been empanelled through the Railway Recruitment Board in the last three years. β€œDuring the last three years, from 2017-2018 to 2019-2020 (up to March 5), a total number of 1,47,620 candidates have been empanelled for various Group β€˜C’ posts (including Level-1) by Railways through Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Railway Recruitment Cells (RRCs),” the Railways Minister said.

Piyush Goyal also said that the three recruitment examinations against Centralized Employment Notifications (CEN) are in process to be conducted in the coming months.

A total of 1,15,67,248 candidates had registered for Group D Exam and 1,26,30,885 candidates had registered for RRB NTPC. The exam of RRB NTPC was scheduled to be conducted in June to September while the RRB Group D exam was to be scheduled to be held in September/October. However, the exams have been postponed due to the finalization of exam conducting agency.

RRB NTPC is conducted for posts such as Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways.

RRB Group D is held for selection to the posts such as Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Helper/Assistant Pointsman in Level 1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix in various departments of Indian Railways.
